About

Hi, I’m Ezra. Welcome to The Vertical Junkie! Here you can find all my climbs, gear, nutrition and anything else climbing related I can nerd out about. My goal is to document my climbs and expeditions while providing useful information to other climbers.

When grading climbs, I primarily use the National Climbing Classification System (NCCS), supplemented with more specific rock, snow, or ice grades as relevant to the route. In terms of beta, I usually provide a section at the bottom of each post that covers route info and any helpful maps or photos. Please note that necessary gear and beta on any route can vary throughout the year as seasons and weather change. My beta won’t always be the beta.

I like to write while riding the climbing high. Most of my trip reports are written on route or in the car heading home. If a post is retrospective, I’ll make sure to note it.

If you would like to get in touch, feel free to reach out here.

Cheers!
