The Temres 282 is a great cheap alternative to more expensive ice and alpine gloves. Made for cold wet environments on Japanese fishing boats, it’s perfect for the alpine. It has one major flaw though… The internal liner tends to wet out with sweat when worn over a long day of climbing or ski touring. Once soaked, the internal liner is a huge pain to dry out. The process of turning the gloves inside out alone is very annoying. To fix this, You can cut out the internal lining, allowing you to use any liner you want!
Start by exposing the inner liner near the cuff of the glove. Make a cut along the seam attaching the liner to the external rubbery shell. Be careful to not damage the shell, but if you do, some shoe goo should do the trick.

After making the cut, turn the glove inside out. There is adhesive attaching the liner to the shell at the fingertips, but it’s pretty weak. You can pull it apart without worrying about damaging the shell. Now, turn the glove right side out, and you’re done! BOOM! You now have a cheap, mid-weight, high performance shell glove for all you alpine endeavors.
